Shriram Capital sponsors fund raiser concert

Shriram Capital Ltd was the main sponsor of the fund raiser concert by Padmashri Aruna Sairam organized by Cancare Foundation. The concert was held on 9th February 2013, at Sri Shanmukhananda Fine Arts & Sangeetha Sabha, Sion, Mumbai. The immensely talented Padmashri Aruna Sairam had performed a celestial tribute to ‘Lalitha’ the Divine Mother Goddess with 1000 venerable names. The concert was organized in aid of Cancare Foundation which extends home based palliative care to the terminally ill cancer patients and supports the surgeries, radiation and chemotherapy of needy patients from low income groups.

Shriram Awards for Excellence in Financial Journalism

A press meet was held on 9th Jan, 2013 in Mumbai, to announce the launch of ‘Shriram Awards for Excellence in Financial Journalism’. The distinguished panel members were: Mr.Arun Duggal, Chairman Shriram Capital Ltd, Mr.G.S Sundararajan, Group Director, Shriram Group and Mrs.Akhila Srinivasan, Managing Director, Shriram Life Insurance Co Ltd. “Shriram Awards for Excellence in Financial Journalism” is instituted by Shriram Capital Limited in association with The Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR), Chennai. The primary objective of the Awards is to recognize extraordinary contributions made by journalists in the field of Financial Journalism and to motivate Financial Journalists to achieve higher levels of Professional Excellence. Release of Shriram City Social Audit report

Honourable Union Finance Minister Shri. P.Chidambaram, released Shriram City Union Finance Ltd’s Social Audit Report 2010 - 12 in New Delhi on 23rd October 2012, amongst the presence of Shriram City’s Chairman, Directors, partners & business associates of the company. The first copy of the Report was presented to Shri. K. R. Kamath, Chairman & Managing Director, Punjab National Bank. Shri. Vijay Mahajan, Founder & Chairman, BASIX Group, was also one of the distinguished guests at the event. During his speech, Honourable Union Finance Minister Shri. P.Chidambaram commended the efforts of the Group in reducing the myth which is perceived in serving the high risk, lower economic strata of the society. The event was well received by the audience and received good media coverage.

Events - Shriram Capital Mumbai office Inauguration

Shriram Capital Ltd inaugurated its Mumbai Corporate office in a ceremony held at Level-2, East Wing, Wockhardt Towers, Bandra Kurla Complex on 2nd Feb 2011 at 9am. The ceremony commenced with the ‘Laxmi poojan’ and ‘Griha Pravesh Poojan’, Mr. Heinie Werth, Chief Executive, Emerging Markets, Sanlam, S.Africa cut the ribbon along with all guests which included Chairman Mr.Arun Duggal, Mr.G. S. Sundararajan, Mr. R. Sridhar, Mr. D. V. Ravi, Mr. K. Moorjani, Mr. Puneet Bhatia, Mr. U Revankar, Mr. Parag Sharma and all seniors from Shriram Group.

Great Lakes Institute of Management (GLIM),Chennai

Shriram Group recently visited the Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai. GLIM is a pre-eminent B-School and its Founder / Dean is Dr.Bala V Balachandran, J.L.Kellogg Distinguished Professor of Accounting and Information Management (Emeritus in Service), Illinois, USA and an international academician of great repute. On 5th Feb’11, a plaque was released at GLIM carrying the name of Shriram Capital Limited and acknowledging the donation made. The plaque was released in the presence of distinguished personalities.
