Running schools for the underprivileged children in remote areas of the Country.
Give Life, an aid program for deprived children.
A. Running schools - Imparting good quality Education The Foundation is running schools at Thiruneermalai, Tamil Nadu as well as at Nulakapet, Andhra Pradesh.
Both the schools offer free quality education to around 1110 children (500 at Chennai and 600 at AP). The children are mainly from daily wage labour and quarry workers. Teachers earn at par with Government pay scales, their skills regularly upgraded and they are made aware of child rights and safety of children. Montessori system of education is followed up to primary level. Emphasis is more on Activity based learning for classes I to IV. The schools are well equipped with Library, Physics, Chemistry and Biology labs. The children are provided with breakfast. The Foundation is also managing Sri Sri Vidya Mandir Matriculation School, Anaikoil - Nagapatinam District, constructed by The Art of Living Foundation. This school provides quality education to 600 underprivileged children in the Tsunami affected areas of Nagapattinam.
One other problem has been the en masse drop outs after 10th and 12th Std.
